Charli Rose Burkhardt is a New York based Scenic Designer and has always had a passion for art. She has always known that art was her path in life, and her journey of being an artist has taken many forms. Charli continues to learn, experiment, and deepen her understanding and relationship to her work. She started by scribbling doodles on any material she could get her hands on and then advancing to complex watercolors. She later learned of a new medium of creating an image on a larger scale. A composition with depth, symbolism and life, design. As a designer she loves to play with the elasticity of realism to abstraction in the theatrical environments that she sculpts. She feels that each piece she works on is its own character, each text has its own breath, personality and needs. It is her job to speak on behalf of these environments to let them bloom into the entity they are meant to be. With each new work, she meets a new person, and is honored to learn how to best help them flourish. All the while, continuing to question, challenge and explore what her relationship is to these new people she meets as an artist.
Charli is also a recent SUNY Purchase Alum of the BFA Theater Design/Tech program (DT).
She also was honored as the William Land Mintzer Award winner in 2022.
